Marco's Outlook on the Future

Having personally lived through a horrifying experience, I believe as a human as well as the author of the true story Lost Blood that it is truly time for a sincere and lasting peace.

I learned first hand how ugly wars can be and what they leave behind in terms of the suffering and death of innocent women, children and elderly men.

I have seen the power of hate and revenge and how it left behind three thousand bodies on one single street.  I have witnessed the rape of children before they were crushed under military boots and do not wish a similar experience to happen to anyone at any time, not even for an enemy.  I truly believe this kind of violence needs to stop as I look to a better future without hate and revenge, without wars, just peace between Muslims, Jews and Christians.

It has become my fervent desire to call for fundamentalist Muslims to stop every kind of violence against the Jews and the Christians and give peace a chance—peace is what true Islam calls for.  The true Muslim knows this fact.  These fundamentalists groups are giving Islam an appalling reputation.  Their violent acts in Iraq are killing more innocent Muslims, both Sunni and Sheia, then any other religion.  Those fundamentalists are dangerous to the Islamic religion, if not the enemy of Islam.  I would like free people all over the world to know that the Islamic fundamentalist does not represent me or the other true Muslims in any way.  I urge every free man and woman to learn more about true Islam before passing judgment on myself and other Muslims.  By doing so, your opinion of the moderate Muslims—the vast majority of the Muslim faith, will not be influenced by the militants who are by far the minority.  Please do not give those fundamentalists a chance to claim victory through fear tactics and hate mongering.

Take me as a living example; I call for peace, especially between the Israelis and the Palestinians, hoping that one day my dream will come true.  It is no secret that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is the cause of many problems in the Middle East.  As Americans, if we put our effort into bringing peace to these two suffering parties, we have a greater chance of keeping peace here in America.  We are involved in the Middle East conflict whether we admit it or not, whether we know it or not.  It is time for all of us to push for peace as the only option.  This is the only way peace will become more than just a dream, my dream, your dream—and certainly their dream.

                                                                        Bio

Mr. Abraham was born on February 20th 1965 in Beirut Lebanon in a small Palestinian refugee camp named Shatila. As a child he grew up with the day-to-day struggle of living in the camp during a civil war when on September 16, 1982 what is now known as the Sabra Shatila massacre took place. He lived through this horrific event that claimed the lives of some 3000 people. Mr. Abraham survived the tragedy while most of his family and friends did not. He is the only living eyewitness survivor to have told the minute by minute account of the massacre in a book. After the massacre he traveled to Alexandria, Egypt to seek an education. After receiving a degree in petroleum engineering he went to the United Arab Emirates to work for an American company. In 1989 his job brought him to the USA where he has since made it his permanent home. Mr. Abraham is now living in a small town in America and working as a general manager for a very successful car company and writes books on the Middle East. He proudly and thankfully calls his beloved America…his home.
